Pedro Mateus das Neves

Researcher

Pedro Mateus das Neves has a Ph.D. in Development Studies from Universidade de Lisboa with the research question: “SDGs Why? and For Whom? How to Implement Partnerships to Achieve the SDGs?”. His research areas are Development Policies, Political Economy, and Institutional Innovation, with a particular focus on Sustainable Development, SDGs Implementation, Impact Investing, Innovative Finance, Partnerships, and Transformational Projects applied to Regional and Urban Development, namely Smart and Sustainable Cities. Has published work in English, Portuguese, French, Russian, Mandarin, and Japanese. 
Started lecturing Strategy and Business Structuring in 2003 at ESAI, where he is a Coordinating Professor. In 2010 created the Urban Requalification MBA and the Course of Cities of the Future, and in 2021 became a Member of the Scientific Council.

As a visiting professor and researcher, he teaches at Toyo University, Tokyo, Japan; Tsinghua University in Beijing and Shenzhen, China; Geneva University, Switzerland; ParisTech, École des Ponts et Chaussés in Paris; IESE Business School in Barcelona; Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics; University of Lisbon; and, National School of Public Administration in Luanda, Angola. 
Founded and is the CEO of Global Solutions 4U based on Sustainable Development in 2010, a consulting firm specialized in SDG issues; Impact Investing, Financial Innovation, and Partnerships for the Development of Cities and Regions. His professional experience includes planning, designing, and implementing Sustainable Development Policies, having originated and managed more than €10bn of investment projects through partnerships in more than 250 cities and 80 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas.
