CESOP-Local participates in the XXV CLAD International Congress

The CESOP-Local participates in the XXV International Congress of CLAD - Latin American Centre of Administration for Development, under the thematic area Local Management and Decentralisation in the perspective of sustainable development of cities, by invitation of the General Direction of Administration and Public Employment (DGAEP).

The CLAD International Congress has become the most important meeting in Latin America, where experiences, research and investigations on the main dimensions of the renewed process of reform and modernisation of the State's administration and management of public affairs are annually presented, promoted and discussed.

The "XXV CLAD International Congress on the Reform of the State and Public Administration", organised by CLAD and the Government of Portugal through the Ministry of State Modernisation and Public Administration, took place in Lisbon between 24 and 27 November 2020. It was structured into eight thematic areas and welcomed 740 congress participants.   

The presentations of the panel "Management Instruments for Sustainability in Public Administration", in which the Coordinator Cristina Rosário Evaristo and the Superior Technician Margarida Quintela Martins from the Department of Development of Organisational Models of DGAEP and the Coordinator of the CESOP-Local Network of the universidade Católica Portuguesa, José Fidalgo, participated, aimed to establish the relationship between the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda with the instruments and management tools used in the Public Administration.


The focus was on sustainability in organisations from three different perspectives and management levels. At local and regional level: The CAF (Common Assessment Framework in organisations) as an evaluation tool for Portuguese municipalities, at an intermediate level The implementation of the CAF in organisation, and at a smaller level Environmental management in organisations.
